Our two-week trip to Egypt was fantastic. We got to
venture inside the Great Pyramid of Cheops, see the
enormous seated Ramses statues at Abu Simbel, and
cruise the Nile on a felucca. We took a carriage ride
through a crowded Egyptian market in Luxor, visited a
Nubian village in Aswan, descended into King Tut's
tomb, and saw the lovely temple complex of Karnak as
the sun was setting. A bonus day on Luxor's West
Bank gave us time to visit some of the most beautiful
tombs of the nobles and artisans. Cruising up and
down the Nile between Luxor and Aswan was a treat.
Smoking sheesha pipes and having baby crocodiles
placed on our heads were unexpected adventures!
